Good hiking is available along the Green Ridge Trail, and Antietam Creek - East Branch is a great whitewater spot nearby. The amount of precipitation that falls at Carbaugh Reservoir is close to the national average; June is when you get the most rain here, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Huckleberry Hill can be observed from Carbaugh Reservoir, and Clear Run is in       the neighborhood of Carbaugh Reservoir and is always a joy to go to. A tremendous nearby hotel is Scottish Inns & Suites Fayetteville, and Gettysburg Koa Kampground is a pleasant campground nearby. Carbaugh Reservoir is not far at all from Gettysburg. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Carbaugh Reservoir, for example Long Pine Run Reservoir, and while you're here you can play some golf at Caledonia Golf Club. And that's not all                  you can do here at Carbaugh Reservoir. The Sandy Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and Carbaugh Run Dam has brilliant water scenery. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Conewago Creek - West. Lakes? Sure, Caledonia Lake is in the vicinity. You can never get enough of the tremendous skiing at Ski Liberty, and after a long day outdoors Carroll Valley Resort is a good location to spend a night or two. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area close to Carbaugh Reservoir has to offer. There's great hiking along the Lippencot Trail, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Cold Springs. If time allows, Catoctin Mountain Park is a national park worth stopping at, and Colonels Crk Campground is a great local campground. High temperatures at Carbaugh Reservoir through the months of summer are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's.
