Go to Byers Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. There are some great whitewater spots on Cowanshannock Creek, and you can hit the slopes at Boyce Park around here. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Kittanning is a pleasant choice, and Mcauley Campground is a glorious campground nearby. From a rain point of view Byers Lake is a reasonably typical place; during May this area sees the most rain while February is frequently the driest month.

| | Lake throughout the summer highs are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Byers Lake temperatures fall to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Paradise Beach is near Byers Lake and is a beautiful beach to visit, and Byers Lake is a glorious spot to visit for more than one day, Burnt Ridge Campground is a glorious spot to camp nearby. | |

Just can't get enough of Byers Lake. A round of golf at nearby Lenape Heights Golf Course is a tremendous way to kill some time.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Crabtree Creek, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Royle is a great site to spend a night or two.
