Go for a hike on the East Branch Bruce Lake Trail; the snow is fine at Tanglwood. All the water falling down from the sky makes Butcher Pond a wet site; of all       the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February is when it's the driest. Just can't get enough of Butcher Pond. A wonderful nearby hotel is The Settlers Inn; golf can be played at Honesdale Golf Club. Get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary, and there are good sites to look at along the Blooming Grove Trail. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Butcher Pond reach the                  70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Butcher Pond. You can run the rapids of Lackawaxen River in the vicinity of Butcher Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Very good water scenery is available at Trout Lake Dam right next door to Butcher Pond, and a lake close by is Suydam Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
