This lake is so wonderful. Hunters Rocks is clearly visible from Black Moshannon Lake, and Black Moshannon Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Hemlock Acres Campground is a splendid local campground. A tremendous close by hotel is Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott State College, and Kephart Dam is scenic. At Black Moshannon Lake throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. Summer       nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Black Moshannon Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. While you're here at Black Moshannon Lake you can take a hike along the Short Trail; if you came to camp Snow Shoe Park is a good place to do that. Black Moshannon Lake is a wet place that gets lots of precipitation; through June this area sees the most rain, and the                  driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Hampton Inn & Suites Williamsburg Square is a pleasant location to spend a night or two, and paddling on Moshannon River is so much fun. Whitewater paddling is great on Black Moshannon Creek; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Dry Hollow Trail. Black Moshannon Lake is not far at all from State College; the Old Huckleberry Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. So many cool things to do at Black Moshannon Lake, so little time. Gotta ski!
