Black Pond Dam is a pretty location in close proximity to Black Lake; a glorious close by hotel is Comfort Inn Towanda. What a site this is for outdoors people. Near Black Lake you hit upon the Irish Settlement Trail which is a great hiking trail, and a great site for whitewater paddling is Schrader Creek. Going for a hike on the Fox Hollow Spur is always a brilliant       adventure; Black Lake is a site with many visitors from Sayre. This lake is so wonderful. La Hacienda Inn is a glorious site to get some rest; get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Towanda Creek - South Branch. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Black Lake. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 30's while Black Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. A golf                  course close to Black Lake is Towanda Country Club, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Shores Pond. The yearly rain here at Black Lake is about average; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is January.
