There is a tremendous hiking trail in the vicinity of Bear Creek Lake called the Choke Creek Trail, and picturesque scenery and good skiing is what you acquire at Blue Mountain. The Boulder Field Trail is a fine hiking trail near Bear Creek Lake, and skiing at Split Rock is one of those things you just must do. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great earth it would be. Get       covered with water paddling on Lehigh River; if you need a place to stay Hampton Inn is a wonderful choice. Dry warm beds await you at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Lehighton, Pa, and you can stay the night at Jim Thorpe Camping Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Bear Creek Lake Dam is not far at all from Bear Creek Lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Bear Creek Lake has to offer, you can camp at Blue Mountain Camping Resort. Bear Creek                  Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is February. Near Bear Creek Lake you locate the Refuge Trail which is a great hiking trail. For the period of the months of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Bear Creek Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's.
