The Lake is a very nice place to be. In summer, enjoy some fresh food at the Pizza Shack while enjoying the breeze of the Lake air. The swimming area is located in front of the restaurant....
Muddy Creek - Slippery Rock Tributary
I used to live off the creek. My grandfather had a home 'Tomahawk' just below the bridge. I canoed this creek many times as a child. And unless the creek has become more 'violent' rafting is not difficult. It takes some know how, but not an expert. It's great fun. We did it in a canoe, rafting should be a breeze....

Connoquenessing Creek
18 miles away For those that enjoyed the stretch above Hamony Junction, PA, the removal of the dam at that location has caused the stream to lose a lot of it's recreational value. The creek in the section extending above Harmony can no longer support canoes - the Wild Waterway Conservancy's (the dam removal owner) intent to put in a canoe boat launch is laughable since there is limited water that is now available for canoeing....Hi, an update on this trip... the take-out listed seems to be the old hydro plant in Ellwood City. The trail is very overgrown and the road is another three hundred or so yards carry uphill to the road. The better trip is to continue down the Connie to just under the new bridge (5th street) and take out at the old water treatment plant. You can park close to the water (ask first) on the access road and if you park the shuttle vehicle right can see it from the water. This would add only a few more minutes to the trip. There is a new outfitter on the water there too, Keystone Sojourns is opening a shop in Ellport for canoe & kayak rentals and they offer a shuttle service too. Phone # is 724-713-2093. Good paddling, Dave...
