This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Sugar Creek offers some delightful whitewater, and camping at Riverside Acres Campground is always a perfect experience. Summertime highs at Balsam Pond generally tend to be in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Balsam Pond.       A great close by hotel is Best Western Grand Victorian Inn; Apple Creek is in the vicinity of Balsam Pond and is always a diversion to check out. Macham Lake is a great lake right next door to Balsam Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Schrader Creek; you'll most likely meet some people from Sayre here. Balsam Pond gets a normal amount of annual rain; most of the rain falls during June, and January on the                  other hand is the driest.
