Balsam Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. An average amount of precipitation falls at Balsam Pond; June is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant nearby hotel is Best Western Grand Victorian Inn, and Balsam Pond is a fine spot to camp, Riverside Acres Campground is a fine spot. Through the days of summer highs here at Balsam Pond get into the 80's.

| | Summer night lows dip down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Balsam Pond tend to be in the 10's. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Fox Hollow Spur, and some of the water close by flows, like Apple Creek. Pond. Mountain Lake Hotel is a glorious campground here. A nice place for whitewater paddling near Balsam Pond is Sugar Creek, and Towanda Motel is a pleasant place to get some rest.
