If you come at the right time of year, Towanda Creek - South Branch offers some nice whitewater, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Apalachin is a perfect place to spend a night or two. That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Atwoods Pond has it all. Atwoods Pond gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is January.       This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mehoopany Creek, and Alpine Meadow Lakes is a wonderful campground here. At Atwoods Pond through the warm months highs are in the 80's, and the night is a little chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Atwoods Pond.
