A great site to camp here at Allegheny       Reservoir is Zimmie's Campground, and while you're here, you could also visit scenic Lake Altoona. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Dry Gap Run is a stream you can check out during your stay; Blue Knob has glorious slopes and a friendly staff. Allegheny Reservoir gets a normal amount of rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Wright's                  Orchard Station Campground is always a fine experience; after a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Altoona is a good site to spend a night or two. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Little Conemaugh River. Red Hill is uncomplicated to spot from Allegheny Reservoir; an afternoon playing golf at Park Hills Country Club is always a bliss. Why not stop by Storage Dam if you're here, and do visit Mill Run Reservoir, it's a scenic lake. If only every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great planet it would be.
