If you are in this part of Oregon make sure to pay a visit to Yoran Lake. Yoran Lake is a pretty wet place regularly with a good deal of rainfall; all through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July on the other hand is the driest. One of the dominant highlights of the surroundings of Yoran Lake is Mount Yoran, and good hiking is available along the Yoran Lake Trail. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Central Cascade
Range. A great close by hotel is Best Western Oakridge Inn, and if you get bored of Yoran Lake you could also pop by nearby Lils Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Yoran Lake is located in the Central Cascade Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salt Creek, and Bonnie Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. Shelter Cove Resort is a fine campground

nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Hills Creek offers some pleasant whitewater. High temperatures at Yoran Lake through the days of summer are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Yoran Lake descend into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Yoran Lake is a brilliant site to visit for more than one day, Lake Lucile Campground is a brilliant site to camp nearby, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Yoran Lake; Fuji Mountain Trail is a fine local trail.
All the outdoors fun stuff right next door to Yoran Lake will keep you coming back over and over. There's tremendous hiking along the Fawn Lake Way; great skiing awaits you at Willamette Pass.

Davis Lake

This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year....
