Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Coast Ranges. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling close to Lake of the Woods is Elk River, and if you came for an overnight stay Anglers Trailer Village is a glorious place to camp. Go for a hike on the Hazel Camp Trail; dry warm beds await you at Inn of the Beachcomber. The great people of Brookings like to hang out nearby; there's magnificent       hiking along the Lower River Trail. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Lake of the Woods while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's; nighttime lows in the 30's for Lake of the Woods. You imagine that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Why not camp at Lucky Lodge since you're here at Lake of the Woods. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges.
