There's so much to do here at Winkle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Tahkenitch Campground - Siuslaw National Forest is a tremendous location for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Marys River offers some great whitewater. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Coast Ranges, too great to be true. Winkle Lake gets a lot of water; the wettest month of the year is regularly       December, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. And that's not all you can do here at Winkle Lake. Not far from Winkle Lake, you'll locate Whitaker Lake which is a lovely lake, and you can stay the night at Carter Lake - Siuslaw National Forest. You'll meet a lot of people from Corvallis here, and Super 8 Corvallis is a tremendous location to get some rest. This lake is located in the wonderful Coast                  Ranges. For the duration of the summer at Winkle Lake highs are frequently in the 80's; the night is a bit colder of course, frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Winkle Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Willamette River. Lakes? Sure, Porter Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. One of the overriding features of the surroundings of Winkle Lake is Winkle Butte, and a tremendous nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn Willamette River.   Rodeway Inn Willamette River, Corvallis 7 miles away Walking distance to restaurants and historic area.
