Williams Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Row River, and if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Rock Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Primitive Campground is a fine campground nearby. Lakes? Sure, Harris Reservoir is in close proximity. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Cottage Grove, and if you're a golfer then a good
nearby course is Hidden Valley Golf Course.

The winter brings highs down to the 40's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Williams Lake descend into the 30's. Williams Lake is not far at all from Eugene-Springfield; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Cottage Grove, Or is a wonderful

... is no death here, but that is rare). The most common cause of death or serious injury to people is getting in the water when the water is too high. Because the falls have a nice round diving basin, and a small concealed cave behind it, people are drawn to the falls before the water level is really safe in the late spring and early Summer. It is safest in July through late August. The cave is a source of drowning because people go into it easily with the force of the water but cannot get back out because the water pushes then back into the cave, and then they run out of air.
