Very great water scenery is available at Willards Dam in the neighborhood of Willards Pool, and after a long day outdoors Oregon Garden Resort is a delightful place to spend a night or two. | | to visit for more than one day, Silver Falls State Park is a magnificent place to camp nearby, and whitewater paddling is good on Silver Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Fox Reservoir; you can go for a hike on the Crabtree Lake Trail. High temperatures at Willards Pool all through the long summer days are in the 70's. the cold winter nights at Willards Pool are in the 30's. You simply must go for Willards Pool. Good hiking is available along the Pine Crest Trail, and if you get bored of Willards Pool you could also take a look at nearby Keohler
Reservoir. Silverton Hills is clearly visible from Willards Pool, and if you need a site to stay Rodeway Inn Sublimity is a tremendous choice. An average amount of rainfall falls at Willards Pool; throughout the month of December
you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July. Going for a hike on the Snow Peak Mill City Trail is always a perfect adventure, and you can stay the night at Park Campground.

Rich in history, the grounds boast an 1891 building called the Tabernacle. The Tabernacle seats over 1,200 people. The construction is authentic post and beam with soaring rafters and an occasional bird flying through. The tabernacle is also available for rent. Rustic cabins are available to rent as well as rooms in another historic building known as Centennial Lodge. Centennial is a two story building with old style hotel rooms and shared restrooms on each floor. Jubilee Lodge was built in the late sixties and has a large dining/meeting room, complete kitchen as well as dormitories that are all available to rent. Two restroom/shower houses are available for use.
A play ground area for children, volleyball pit, short trails for walking, a local swimming pool (two blocks away in the town of Turner), convenient location to Salem area attractions and the wonderful feel of stepping back in time all make staying on the OCC grounds a great experience! Pine Crest Trail
 | 19 miles away ...nger be reached. A friend and I tried to go there last weekend and we were disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we got to the gate we ... |
