The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Whittier Lake while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. Highs all through the winter are commonly in the 40's with temperatures at Whittier Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. Salene Lake is right here at Whittier Lake, and Scappose Airport County Park is a good campground here. This lake is so       wonderful. Whittier Lake is a spot with many visitors from Longview-Kelso. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Crane Slough is right nearby; since you're here, you could also have a look at lovely Bryce Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Crooked Creek is a magnificent local stream; if you came for an overnight stay Violette's Villa is a fine site to camp. If you need a site to stay Best Western Oak Meadows Inn is a nice choice,                  and playing golf is lots of fun at St Helens Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Mc Cormick Hotel is a great place to get some rest, and in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kalama River. A day at Lyons Beach close to Whittier Lake is time well spent; don't forget to have a look at Cathlacom Point since you're here.
