Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Whitaker Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things near Whitaker Lake. Whitaker Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Tahkenitch Campground - Siuslaw National Forest is a pleasant local campground; a lake close       by is Winkle Lake. Yeah, come up here to the Coast Ranges for a pleasant time. If you're visiting Whitaker Lake from Corvallis, you won't be the only one. There's so much to do here at Whitaker Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Carter Lake - Siuslaw National Forest is a perfect site for that. Be careful coming to the Coast Ranges, you might not ever want to go back home again. The summit of Winkle Butte can be seen from Whitaker Lake, and a                  good close by hotel is Super 8 Corvallis. Whitaker Lake commonly gets a great deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually December, that's the one that rains the most; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Willamette River offers some fine whitewater, and if you need a site to stay Rodeway Inn Willamette River is a great choice. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges.
