Whistlers Bend Reservoir is good enough to spend more than a day at, Mt Nebo Trailer Park is a good local campground, and if you need a place to stay Town & Country Motel is a great choice. Whistlers Bend Reservoir is a wet place that gets much precipitation; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Interesting geology is available here;

winter regularly drop into the 30's. Whitewater paddling is great on Umpqua River - North; after a long day outdoors Sutherlin Inn is a glorious spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. The White Rock Trail is a nice
hiking trail close to Whistlers Bend Reservoir; do pop by Bull Creek if you're here at Whistlers Bend Reservoir.
