There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Siskiyou Mountains. Going for a hike along the Alco Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and Cedar Links Golf Club is a golf course nearby. Whetstone Pond is a beautiful lake in the Siskiyou Mountains. So much exciting stuff to do in the Siskiyou Mountains, not enough time. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mt. Ashland is close to       Whetstone Pond, and Courtyard by Marriott Medford Airport is a perfect place to get some rest. Man, is there plenty of enjoyable stuff to do near Whetstone Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Military Slough Reservoirs; Whetstone Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Emigrant Lake is a pleasant local campground. For the period of the warm days of summer at Whetstone Pond temperatures are ordinarily                  in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Whetstone Pond dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Mount Ashland Trail is good fun; there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Big Butte Creek. The annual rain here at Whetstone Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is December while July is typically the driest month. At Whetstone Pond you always meet someone from Medford; camping at Jackson County Parks and Rec is always a good experience. Whetstone Pond is right by the Chicago Trail. Not far from Whetstone Pond, you'll locate Cable Reservoir which is a gorgeous lake, and if you need a location to stay La Quinta Inn Suites White City is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful.
