Lots of folks from City of The Dalles come to Wassen Pond, and Trugg Reservoir is a nice lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Memaloose State Park is a fine site to camp. An average amount of rain falls at Wassen Pond; December is when you get the most rain here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. For the duration of the summer at Wassen Pond temperatures are mostly in       the 80's, and the night is a tad colder of course, generally in the 50's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Wassen Pond are in the 20's. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Wassen Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Klickitat River, and going for a hike on the Fifteenmile Creek Trail is always a great adventure. This lake                  is so wonderful. There are great sites to discover along the Pen Way Trail, and dry warm beds await you at The Dalles Super 8 Motel. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Central Cascade Range. Lakes are such serene spots, why not explore Pullens Pond near Wassen Pond; hey, Brown Creek is a splendid local stream. Don't leave Wassen Pond without first going for a hike along the Cedar Creek Trail, and Cousins Country Inn is a magnificent place to get some rest. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. So many exciting things in the Central Cascade Range, just extraordinary.
