Walker Reservoir is a nice lake to visit. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Walker Reservoir. It's a tremendous idea to stop by Ames Creek, it's right next door to Walker Reservoir; camping at Holiday Mobile Park is always a good experience. A pretty lake like Renound Reservoir in the neighborhood of Walker Reservoir is a nice location to check out, and close by you locate the Snow Peak Mill City Trail which

| | is a wonderful hiking trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. Walker Reservoir sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls through December; the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. Santiam River - South is a magnificent whitewater spot next to Walker Reservoir, and lakes are such peaceful sites, why not take a look at Browns Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. There is a | |

brilliant hiking trail next to Walker Reservoir called the Michigan Heights Trail. You simply must like the Central Cascade Range. People from Albany-Lebanon love to come to Walker Reservoir, and a great close by hotel is Rodeway
Inn Sublimity. Pleasant Valley is a great spot to explore close by, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Calapooia River. Man, is there lots of cool things to do in the Central Cascade
Range. Going for a hike on the Crabtree Lake Trail is always a great adventure, and Walker Reservoir is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Sunnyside County Park is a pleasant local campground. At Walker Reservoir all
through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Walker Reservoir are in the 30's.

 | Be mindful that the old pilings from the dam that was removed still exist and I believe present a hazard that must be scouted. If you run it before June there is likely no problem at all. Enjoy. The dam site is two miles upriver from Brownsville out Kirk Avenue and Northern Drive. I would hate to see your watercraft buggered up. It is a lovely river.... |
