The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. If you come at the right time of year, Sandy River offers some good whitewater, and the view of Angels Rest is pretty. Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Wahkeena Rearing Lake. Take a hike on the Big Bend Trail, and drift down the rapids of Stebbins Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Wahkeena       Rearing Lake is right by the Green Leaf Trail, and Dougan Creek Campground is a great campground here. Summer at Wahkeena Rearing Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's; nighttime lows at Wahkeena Rearing Lake during the winter regularly dip into the 30's. Yeah, come up here to the Central Cascade Range for a tremendous time. Stay the night at Beacon Rock                  Resort, and getting to Multnomah Creek from Wahkeena Rearing Lake is uncomplicated. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Washougal Trail; Shamrock Motel is a great site to get some rest. Wahkeena Rearing Lake frequently gets a large amount of precipitation; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful. Dalton Point is not far from Wahkeena Rearing Lake at all, and if you need a spot to stay Brookside Bed & Breakfast is a perfect choice.
