This lake is so wonderful. A lot of rainfall falls at Vernonia Lake; most of the rain falls through December while July is mostly the driest month. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Very good water scenery is available at Vernonia Log Pond Dike in close proximity to Vernonia Lake, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Bear Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Vernonia Golf Club is a wonderful       golf course close by; if you've had enough of Vernonia Lake, Hawkins Lake is close by. The Coast Ranges scenery is always beautiful. Be careful coming to the Coast Ranges, you might not ever want to go home again. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Rock Creek, and if you need a location to stay Best Western University Inn is a great choice. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Vernonia Lake has to offer, you can camp at Cedar Ridge, and possibly                  you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Mansfield Pond is just a very short distance away. High temperatures at Vernonia Lake all through the months of summer are in the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Vernonia Lake. Nehalem River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by; Vernonia Lake is a good site to visit for more than one day, Big Eddy County Park is a good site to camp nearby.
