This lake is located in the wonderful Coast Ranges. If you need a site to stay Clatskanie River Inn is a great choice, and O-A Hill is pretty and can be seen from here. This lake is so wonderful. Some close by water includes Bear Creek, and golf can be played at Vernonia Golf Club. Vernonia Lake is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rain; December is the wettest month with most rain,       and July meanwhile is the driest month. Through the summer highs here at Vernonia Lake get into the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Vernonia Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things close to Vernonia Lake. Vernonia Log Pond Dike is a lovely site near Vernonia Lake. Be careful coming to the Coast Ranges, you might not                  ever want to go back home again. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rock Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Big Eddy County Park is a good spot to camp.
