While you're here at Verde Lake it's a pleasant idea to check out Black Meadows. Lakes? Sure, Birthday Lake is around here. Verde Lake is a rather wet place typically with a good deal of rain; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. If only every place had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great globe it would be. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hills Creek; Verde Lake is a tremendous spot

| | to visit for more than one day, Twin Springs Campground is a tremendous spot to camp nearby. All through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Verde Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. Really great skiing awaits you at Willamette | |

Pass, and don't leave Verde Lake without first going for a hike along the Gold Lake Trail. Man, is there a heap of exciting stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Here at Verde Lake you can spot Fuji Mountain; you can go for
a hike on the Fuji Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lower Island Lake is a great lake near Verde Lake, and Shelter Cove Resort is a nice campground nearby. A great nearby hotel is Best Western Oakridge Inn. This lake
is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Salt Creek offers some magnificent whitewater; swamps don’t sound that fine but Mule Prairie in the vicinity of Verde Lake is relatively fine. So much amusing stuff to do here
in the Central Cascade Range, too tremendous to be true. Going for a hike on the Island Lake Trail is always a delightful adventure, and hey, Bechel Creek is a pleasant local stream.

Davis Lake
 | 17 miles away This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year.... |
Little Cultus Lake
 | 17 miles away One of the best of the best small lakes i have fished, out of bend ore. Great family lake.... |
Winopee Lake
 | 17 miles away Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there.... |
