Rich in history, the grounds boast an 1891 building called the Tabernacle. The Tabernacle seats over 1,200 people. The construction is authentic post and beam with soaring rafters and an occasional bird flying through. The tabernacle is also available for rent. Rustic cabins are available to rent as well as rooms in another historic building known as Centennial Lodge. Centennial is a two story building with old style hotel rooms and shared restrooms on each floor.  | 15 miles away We walked/paddled from Larwood bridge to almost the 226 bridge stretch on June 3, 2007. We put in at 11am and we were about two miles from the 226 bridge (at 8pm) when we ran up on a nasty tree branch on a corner and popped the bottom of our inflatable kayak. Luckily, there was a house right there and the owner was real nice and gave us a ride to our truck! The water was VERY low and we had to walk alot of the creek. The deep parts would have been great to fish. There was a large tree across right before Richardson's Gap bridge, but we were able to slide the boat under on the left. It was a rather miserable trip, the rocks were very slippery when trying to drag the boat through the low spots!... |
