     Twin Lakes is a wet location that gets much precipitation; throughout December this area sees the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the vicinity of Twin Lakes. Camping is available at Lower Twin Campground, and Barlow Butte is pretty and can be made out from here. After a long day outdoors Whispering Woods (Vri) is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and Frog Lake is a nearby lake  
   that you could take a look at.
Through the warm days of summer highs here at Twin Lakes reach the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter highs are generally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Twin Lakes are in the 30's. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Central Cascade Range, too glorious to be true. If you get bored of Twin Lakes, you could also take a look at nearby Green Lake, and there's no
 
               such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Timberline Lodge. Mount Hood Inn is a great site to get some rest; Blue Box Pass is another wonderful location to have a look at close by.
Palmateer Creek is in close proximity to Twin Lakes and is always a pleasure to go to, and if you came for an overnight stay White River Park Campground is a splendid place to camp. Man, is there heaps of fun things to do in the Central Cascade Range. The Umbrella Falls Trail offers hiking at its best; Devils Half Acre Meadow is a pretty place any time of year. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit White River; this is a popular location for people from Hood River.
You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Really pleasant skiing awaits you at Mt. Hood Meadows, and do take a hike on the Gnarl Ridge Trail. All year is a tremendous time in the Central Cascade Range if you adore the outdoors. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Hood River - Lake Branch offers some good whitewater; why not take a refreshing hike along the Bonney Meadows Trail.

Have you been to the Bighorn campground site???While this is a beautiful pack-in, primitive site, it doesn't fit with your description. Before camping, take a hike on Nat. Forest Trail 742, without gear. After you've scoped the area, come back and stay. Even on Labor Day Weekend ('06) there were several campsites available in this dispersed camp area....
