Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Turnpike Reservoir. Turnpike Reservoir is usually a reasonably waterless spot; through November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is September. And that's not everything you can do here in the Blue Mountains. You could       also stop by Bronco Reservoir while you're here at Turnpike Reservoir; it's nearby, and Blue Pot Spring is always fun to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Coffeepot Trail is perfect fun, and Pine Tree Campground is a tremendous local campground. Now, you may feel that's a load but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Turnpike Reservoir. Turnpike Reservoir is right by the South Prong Trail. Take a hike on the Black Canyon Trail, and                  Turnpike Reservoir is a perfect site to visit for more than one day, Fish House Inn is a perfect site to camp nearby. Turnpike Reservoir is not the only place nearby, Middle Bronco Reservoir is a nearby lake, and John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is a nice national park.
