We'll be back! We loved the location, the setting (as nice or nicer than any nearby state park), the amenities, the hosts and the other campers! We rented a boat twice and really LOVED the crabbing package. Recommend the spots closer to the river :) ... We love this campground and have used it numerous times. Good fishing, good campgrounds and the greatest hosts and employees. Close to shopping, and many things to do. Full hookups and will accomodate larger rv's....

And all of a sudden there was some noises in the trees behind our tent.... Again I was scared that it would be a bear (the reason I am scared of bears is that when I was a kid, I saw one chase my daddy out of his shower at our camp). So anyways where was I... Oh yeah... So my husband, the cool kind macho man, goes behind the tent to investigate the issue and he comes back laughing and saying, ''well, woman, you said you love raccoons, right?'' I say, ''yeah, why?'' Here they are... And out walks 2 raccoons. I was so excited and I took some pictures.

So anyways, the only other thing I want to say is that when we went there last year the moon was not shining because it was a new moon and when we a...

Camping at the Oregon Coast at Chinook RV Park - what could be better! The Alsea River and Bay, famous for its Dungeness Crab and Chinook Salmon, are enjoyed year-round by fishermen, crabbers, hikers, hunters, boaters, kayakers and birdwatchers. We are close to spectacular ocean beaches. Our park is on the river, just 3. 3 miles from Highway 101 and the ocean, on Highway 34. You can pitch your tent on the river bank; launch your kayak and follow the Alsea River Water Trail. Enjoy the wonderful bird life of the bay which has been designated an important bird area by the Audubon Society. Chinook RV Park is a small, quiet park with large full hook-up RV sites and grassy partial hook-up sites. We have bathrooms with showers and a laundry. Come and enjoy the Oregon coast experience....
