Personally if you're going to a lake in the mountains you should be CAMPING. And there are plenty of sites to do so, both reserved and not. There are great hiking trails and it's also full of fish and crawdads. Boating is a must if possible. During the warm months here at Timothy Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's; night lows in the 30's for Timothy Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Northwind Inn & Suites, and Roamer's Rest RV Park is a pleasant campground here. If you come at the       right time of year, Molalla River offers some wonderful whitewater. Timothy Lake is a pleasant site to camp, Pheasant Ridge RV Park is a pleasant site, and Pleasant Hill can be spotted from Timothy Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Brookforest Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to, and near Timothy Lake you stumble on a golf course called King City Golf Course. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Timothy Lake is excellent! Get yourself into a kayak                  and hit Butte Creek, and there are plenty of folks from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton here. Put some time aside to spend at Krause Springs since you're here at Timothy Lake, and Holiday Inn Portland (Wilsonville), Or is a great site to get some rest.
