    Why not stop by Thomas Cavender Reservoir if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Minetop Trail, and Best Western John Day Inn is a magnificent place to get some rest. Thomas Cavender Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Blue Mountains.
And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do in close proximity to Thomas Cavender Reservoir. Flowers Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out,
 
   and as expected, this is a good area for people who like lakes, Reservoir Number Three is a lake in the neighborhood. Summer at Thomas Cavender Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Thomas Cavender Reservoir are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Visiting John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet,  
               and do take a hike on the Madison Butte Trail.
Just can't get enough of the Blue Mountains. Don't forget to take a tremendous little trip to Cottonwood Creek, and Irvin Canyon is absolutely a brilliant site to have a look at. If you came for an overnight stay Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park is a good place to camp. Lakes are great; Waller Reservoir Number Four is a lake that's near Thomas Cavender Reservoir. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more exciting things to do in the Blue Mountains. Hiking along the Knob Trail is perfect fun, and paddling on John Day River - North Fork is so much fun.
Thomas Cavender Reservoir is a location that is pretty dried out ordinarily; through November this area sees the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. The panorama of gorgeous Jack of Clubs near Thomas Cavender Reservoir is great, and Lepage Park - John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is a tremendous local campground.
