This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Waldo Mountain can be made out from Swan Lake, and Gosling Lakes is a nearby lake that you

could stop at. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Camping is available at Shelter Cove Resort, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Christy Creek. Swan Lake is a wet location that gets lots of precipitation; most of the rain falls during December, and July is when it's the driest.
All the outdoors fun stuff in the Central Cascade Range will keep you coming back many times. While you're here at Swan Lake

you can take a hike along the Cupit Mary Meadow Trail, and a lake nearby is Gander Lake. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on McKenzie River - South Fork, and going for a hike along the Salmon Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. High temperatures at Swan Lake all through the summer are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Swan Lake are in the 20's.
Yeah, come up here to the Central Cascade Range for a pleasant time. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Winchester Trail, and Willamette Pass is a wonderful local ski area.

Winopee Lake
14 miles away
Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there....

Davis Lake
19 miles away
This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year....
