Going for a hike on the North Minam Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and the peak of Elkhorn Peak can be observed from Swamp Lake. For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Swamp Lake reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's, and overnight lows at Swamp Lake throughout the winter ordinarily plunge       into the 20's. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Wallowa Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Baker City. At Swamp Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is July. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things close to Swamp Lake. There's so much to do here at Swamp Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Nez Perce Trailer and RV Park is a magnificent                  spot for that, and the Copper Creek Trail is a nice hiking trail close by. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Wallowa Mountains. Visit Elkhorn Creek if you're here at Swamp Lake, and not far from Swamp Lake you'll find Steamboat Lake which is a beautiful lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Rama Inn & Suites is a good place to spend a night or two. Lakes are brilliant; Sky Lake is a lake that's close to Swamp Lake.
