You definitely should go for the Central Cascade Range. Going for a hike on the Fish Lake Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and the view of beautiful Potato Butte is magnificent. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun things to do in the Central Cascade Range. On a nice day you can stop by Cornpatch Meadow, a swamp near Surprise Lake; you can go for a hike on the Cub Creek Trail. Surprise Lake is located in the Central Cascade Range. Surprise

| | Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; throughout December this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Man, is there a lot of enjoyable things to do close to Surprise Lake. Surprise Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Lemiti Campground is a magnificent local campground; Surprise Lake is not the only location nearby, Si Lake is a nearby lake. of Marion Creek in a kayak, and it's a glorious idea to go to Bump Creek. A lake close by is Fish Lake; don't leave Surprise Lake without first going for a hike along the Wolf Spring Trail. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Clackamas
River, and what would winter be without some skiing at Hoodoo. High temperatures at Surprise Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through
the winter are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Surprise Lake are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Trout Lake Campground is always a wonderful experience.

 | Roundtrip Distance 13.7 miles Elevation Gain 2,348 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking.
