It's always fun to stop by Surprise Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are magnificent; Timber Lake is a lake that's near Surprise Lake, and camping is available at Lookout Springs Campground. High temperatures at Surprise Lake through the long summer days are in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Surprise

| | Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. Take a hike on the Roaring River Trail, and Acme Timber Company Mill Dam is delightful.
If you need a place to stay Whispering Woods (Vri) is a splendid choice. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Dry Ridge Trail, and float down the rapids of Roaring River in a kayak. Trail, and camping at Shining Lake Campground is always a great experience.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Surprise Lake a wet location; through the month of December you get the most rain around here; the driest
month of the year is July. Surprise Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Clackamas River is so much fun, and after a long day outdoors Resort at the Mountain is a splendid spot
to spend a night or two.
Do set aside some time for Nowhere Meadow if you're here at Surprise Lake, and of course Big Creek is a lovely stream that is worth stopping at. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Central
Cascade Range. Swamps are attention-grabbing locations and Wards Meadow next to Surprise Lake is no exception, and not far from Surprise Lake you'll discover Serene Lake which is a scenic lake.
