Surprise Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Having a pleasant time in the Central Cascade Range is painless. The peak of Baty Butte can be seen from Surprise Lake, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Sandy Inn is a pleasant choice. Throughout the days of summer highs here at Surprise Lake get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Surprise

| | Lake are in the 30's. Surprise Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. The high level of rain makes Surprise Lake a relatively wet place; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain while July is frequently the driest month. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Surprise Lake; Thunder Mountain Trail is a great local trail, and you're possibly interested in lakes, Skookum Lake is one of those nearby. Just getting warmed up. There's so much to do here at Surprise Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Skookum Lake Campground is a glorious place for that, and why not a little side spree to Cedar Creek. This lake is so
wonderful. Good hiking is available along the South Fork Mountain Trail, and Clackamas River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the
Central Cascade Range has to offer. Surprise Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pelton Park is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is good on Clackamas River - South Fork. Don't leave Surprise Lake
without first going for a hike along the East Mountain Trail, and a glorious nearby hotel is Resort at the Mountain.
