     Summertime highs at Surprise Lake generally tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Surprise Lake all through the wintertime generally dip into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. A pretty lake like Skookum Lake in close proximity to Surprise Lake is a pleasant place to stop by; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Thunder Mountain Trail. Now,  
   you may think that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Surprise Lake. Going for a hike along the South Fork Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; in the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clackamas River.
The high level of rain makes Surprise Lake a quite wet location; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July
 
               is the month with the least moisture. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Resort at the Mountain is a good site to get some rest.
Baty Butte is pretty and can be spotted from Surprise Lake, and Clackamas River - South Fork has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby. Surprise Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Pelton Park is a brilliant place to camp nearby; do stop by High Lake, it's a striking lake. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. If you need a site to stay Best Western Sandy Inn is a magnificent choice; hiking along the East Mountain Trail is pleasant fun.
So many fun things to do in the Central Cascade Range, not sufficient time. Skookum Lake Campground is a nice local campground, and don't forget to take a wonderful little journey to Cedar Creek.
