Surprise Lake is a nice lake to visit. Surprise Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Skookum Lake Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and Best Western Sandy Inn is a great place to get some rest. For the duration of the summertime at Surprise Lake highs are typically in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Surprise Lake

| | are in the 30's. Go for a hike on the East Mountain Trail, and a perfect view of striking Baty Butte is available. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more exciting things to do in the Central Cascade Range. Cedar Creek is a good site to stop at; get yourself into a kayak and hit Clackamas River. is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Thunder Mountain Trail, and if you've had enough of Surprise Lake, Skookum Lake is nearby. Surprise Lake is a wet place that gets
a large amount of rainfall; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Resort at the Mountain. Now, you may imagine that's heaps
but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Central Cascade Range. If you come at the right time of year, Clackamas River - South Fork offers some great whitewater; don't leave Surprise Lake without first going for a hike along the South Fork Mountain Trail. Surprise Lake is located in the Central Cascade Range.
