From a precipitation point of view Summit Lake is a relatively common place; the month with most of the rain is November; July is the month with the least moisture. Through the warm months highs here at Summit Lake reach the 80's, and the night is quite chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's; nighttime lows at Summit Lake during       the wintertime mostly sink into the 20's. All year is a wonderful time in the Southern Cascade Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Summit Lake is not the only spot nearby, Norris Pond is a nearby lake. There's so much to do here at Summit Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Upper South Fork Campground is a fine location for that. This lake is so wonderful. Summit Lake is right by the Cat Hill Way; as expected Swan Creek flows through                  this area. A lake nearby is Squaw Lake, and the Blue Rock Trail offers hiking at its best. You definitely have to have a thing about Summit Lake. Do pay a visit to Crater Lake National Park while you're here at Summit Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Summit Lake; Twin Ponds Trail is a good local trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Summit Lake has to offer, you can camp at Saddle Campground.
