Summit Lake is a lake worth visiting. Summit Lake is a magnificent location to visit for more than one day, Hutton Campground is a magnificent location to camp nearby; don’t forget to take a look at Ash Flat since you're here at Summit Lake. Man, is there loads of cool stuff to do in the Siskiyou Mountains. While you're here at Summit Lake you must visit Mulligan Bay, and there's splendid hiking along the Low Gap Trail. Ashland offers plenty of adventure for both skiers and riders. The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area offers 23 trails in addition to chute skiing and boarding in its famous bowl. All trails are easily accessed by 4 chairlifts. Twilight skiing on 10 runs is scheduled Thursday through Friday evenings beginning in late-December. The mountain prides itself on a warm and friendly atmosphere.
