Summit Lake is located in the Central Cascade Range. Summit Lake is not the only place close by, Timothy Lake is a close by lake, and you can go for a hike on the Summit Lake Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Summit Lake a wet site; all through December this area sees the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff right next door to Summit Lake. You could also stop at Clackamas

| | Lake since you're here at Summit Lake; it's nearby. There's so much to do here at Summit Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hambone Springs Campground is a glorious location for that. There's wonderful hiking along the Fire Springs Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Timberline Lodge is one of those things you just have to do. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Summit Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lemiti Campground. Not | |

enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. Very charming scenery and good skiing is what you get at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, and great hiking is available along the Skyline Alternate Trail. But wait, there's more exciting
stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. A trip to Rock Spring will fill your soul with great feelings, and Clackamas River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby. At Summit Lake during the months of summer highs are in the
70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Summit Lake dipping down into the 30's through winter nights.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Whispering Woods (Vri) is a good location to spend a night or two; a good view of picturesque Red Box is available. Mount Hood Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest, and paddling on Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork is so much fun.

 | Roundtrip Distance 13.7 miles Elevation Gain 2,348 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not.
