This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Rama Inn & Suites, and you can go for a hike on the Hale Spring Trail. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more fun things to do here in the Blue Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Summit Mount Emily Trail, and Starr Reservoir is not far at all from La Grande. High temperatures at Starr Reservoir throughout the long summer days are in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight

| | hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's while Starr Reservoir night low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Mountains. Starr Reservoir gets very little rain; all through November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. LaGrande is a perfect choice. Camping is available at Grandview Campground, and delightful skiing awaits you at Spout Springs. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Starr Reservoir; Five Points Trail is
a great local trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby York Reservoir. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Starr Reservoir. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Grande
Ronde River. And if that's not enough there's lots more fun stuff to do in the Blue Mountains. If you crave a little side trip, try Bull Canyon, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Anthony Lakes. If you come
at the right time of year, Grande Ronde River offers some brilliant whitewater. Lakes are fine; Feik Reservoirs is a lake that's right next door to Starr Reservoir.

Spout Springs
 | 12 miles away 9 PHOTOS ...ns. It is very popular area for snowmobiles and year-around residences. Spout Springs opened in 1927 and was first known as the Blue Mountain Ski Club. Pete and Esther Eyraud were the first owners. Pete was the second President of Pacific Northwest Ski Instructors Association and was instrumental in bringing the first French ski instructors to the northwest ski areas. Its name is derived from the numerous natural springs that are found throughout the region. There are three springs on the resort's property. Spout Springs has 2 double chair lifts, a 21 KM cross country trail system, night skiing (the entire area is lighted), and one of the states few free tubing hills. In the late 60's, Spout Springs was the Nordic training center for the United States Olympic team and the Norwegian jump team. Spout Springs flies the Olympic Flag for this distinction. Anthony Lakes offers a full service rental shop, Nordic Center, Learning Center, snowmobile trail access, and trailer parking. At the base of towering alpine peaks, the Day Lodge provides snowriders and nonsnowriders with food service, and a warm place to mingle and watch the slopes.
