If you like lakes and you're in this part of Oregon you can check out Squaw Lakes. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. There's so much to do here at Squaw Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Shining Lake Campground is a pleasant location for that; the snow is good at Timberline Lodge. Squaw Lakes sees pretty high levels of precipitation; December is the wettest month with most rain while July is typically the driest month. And if that's not

| | enough there's plenty more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork; if you're here, you could also stop at picturesque Shining Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous spot for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Squaw Lakes is Roaring River; Serene Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. Squaw Lakes is great | |

enough to spend more than a day at, Lookout Springs Campground is a great local campground; the Eagle Creek Cutoff offers hiking at its best. Now, you may assume that's lots but there's even more fun things to do here in the Central
Cascade Range. Good hiking is available along the Old Baldy Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Resort at the Mountain is a perfect choice. Man, is there loads of cool stuff to do in the vicinity of Squaw Lakes. Summertime highs
at Squaw Lakes ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Squaw Lakes during the wintertime frequently sink into the
30's. Whispering Woods (Vri) is a fine site to get some rest, and Squaw Meadow is a good spot to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Squaw Lakes you can see Sheepshead Rock, and the best way to spend a winter day is
on the slopes of close by Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. Squaw Lakes is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Squaw Lakes; Roaring River Trail is a good local trail; a quick visit to Plaza Creek is beyond doubt a great idea.
