The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Squaw Lake temperatures sink to the 30's. Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Coast Ranges. Hiking along the Mountain Wells Trail is pleasant fun, and there are swamps here too, Cedar       Swamp is around here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Squaw Lake a wet site; most of the rain falls all through December, and July is when it's the driest. The Coast Ranges scenery is always beautiful. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are really plentiful here at Squaw Lake. Going for a hike along the Bear Camp Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; you can stay the night at Big Tree Campground. Whohoo, so much exciting                  stuff in one place! The Coast Ranges is so good! Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Coquille River - South Fork, and some pleasant nature is available in Coquille River Falls Natural Area. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Squaw Lake has to offer, you can camp at Coal Creek Campground, and getting to Bear Creek from Squaw Lake is easy. This lake is so wonderful. During your trip to Squaw Lake you'll meet some people from Brookings for sure. Azalea Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out, and Coquille River Falls is always fun to check out. This lake is so wonderful.
