     Visit Mill Creek since you're here at Spring Reservoir, and Abiqua Creek has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. While you're here at Spring Reservoir you will meet lots of folks from close by Salem. From a precipitation point of view Spring Reservoir is a rather normal place; most of the rain falls throughout December, and the driest month is July. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things at Spring Reservoir. Park Campground  
   is a glorious campground nearby; a nice close by hotel is Canby Country Inn.
Lakes are brilliant; Marquam Reservoir is a lake that's close to Spring Reservoir; on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Pine Crest Trail. Not far from Spring Reservoir, you'll come across Pichette Reservoir which is a pretty lake; if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Butte Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you
 
               need a place to stay Oregon Garden Resort is a good choice, and if you came for an overnight stay Silver Falls State Park is a fine site to camp.
Summertime highs at Spring Reservoir frequently tend to be in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's; night lows all through the wintertime for Spring Reservoir tend to be in the 30's.

...here last weekend and we were disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. Don't Go all the way to wilsonville for a hotel. if you head in towards portland on the 26, there are plenty of hotels from government camp to welches. Personally if you're going to a lake in the mountains you should be CAMPING. And there are plenty of sites to do so, both reserved and not. There are great hiking trails and it's also full of fish and crawdads. Boating is a must if possible....
