Spring Reservoir is a nice lake to visit. Through the warm months at Spring Reservoir temperatures are usually in the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Spring Reservoir. You'll find a striking lake called Pichette Reservoir near Spring Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Canby Country Inn, and there's whitewater

| | on Abiqua Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. This site is unbeatable, just check out all the amusing stuff to do in the vicinity of Spring Reservoir. Going for a hike along the Pine Crest Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and there are some great whitewater spots on Butte Creek. A pleasant place to camp here at Spring Reservoir is Silver Falls State Park, and after a long day outdoors Oregon Garden Resort is a nice site to spend | |

a night or two. Spring Reservoir gets a normal amount of rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. A wonderful lake like Marquam Reservoir near Spring Reservoir
is a nice site to have a look at, and if you're dropping by from Salem, you won't be the only one. Why not camp at Park Campground while you're here at Spring Reservoir, and hey, Mill Creek is a tremendous local stream.

Pine Crest Trail
 | 17 miles away ...ointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we got to the gate we came in through, we found that while we were away, someone had closed and locked ... |

Personally if you're going to a lake in the mountains you should be CAMPING. And there are plenty of sites to do so, both reserved and not. There are great hiking trails and it's also full of fish and crawdads. Boating is a must if possible.... |
