     South Prong Reservoir is always a pleasure to visit. The Blue Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. The South Prong Trail is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of South Prong Reservoir, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western John Day Inn. South Prong Reservoir gets very little rain; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is September.
Just can't get enough of South Prong
 
   Reservoir. Hat Spring is an inspiring spot to stop by during your stay, and you should beyond doubt dedicate some time to Honeymoon Basin since you're here at South Prong Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at South Prong Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Pine Tree Campground is a good place for that, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Black Canyon Trail.
But wait, there's more exciting
 
               stuff to do in the Blue Mountains. If you haven’t been to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here, and Mud Reservoir is a splendid lake close by. There is a wonderful hiking trail in the neighborhood of South Prong Reservoir called the Coffeepot Trail, and swing by Honeymoon Creek it's a great site to stop at. Having a good time in the Blue Mountains is painless. If you came to camp Fish House Inn is a pleasant place to do that, and lakes are such serene sites, why not explore Beaverdam Reservoir.
For the period of the summertime at South Prong Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to South Prong Reservoir.
