But wait, there's more to do near South Prong Reservoir. You'll stumble on a pretty lake called Blue Jay Reservoir near South Prong Reservoir; the South Prong Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Honeymoon Basin is a beautiful site any time of year, and why not a little side trip to Honeymoon Creek. South Prong Reservoir is pretty dried out ordinarily; through the month       of November you get the most rain around here, and September meanwhile is the driest month. Pine Tree Campground is a fine local campground; a good close by hotel is Best Western John Day Inn. At South Prong Reservoir through the days of summer highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at South Prong Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Yep, outdoors amusing                  stuff truly is bountiful here in the Blue Mountains. John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is a pleasant national park, and Fish House Inn is a tremendous campground nearby. South Prong Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Blue Mountains. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Blue Mountains. While you're here at South Prong Reservoir, you could also explore stunning Battle Ridge Reservoir, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Coffeepot Trail.
