What a nice lake Snag Lake is. Snag Lake gets much water; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that rains the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Do stop by Teal Lake next to Snag Lake, it's a picturesque lake; if you need a location to stay Best Western Holiday Motel is a brilliant choice. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges.

These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Camping is available at K O A Kampgrounds; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn North Bend. Camping at Firs Mobile Home and RV Park is always a wonderful experience; there's some flowing water close by, Charlotte Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here. High temperatures at Snag Lake through the days
of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Snag Lake dip into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful.
Going for a hike along the Threemile Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and you'll probably meet some folks from Coos Bay here.

Upper Pony Creek Reservoir
 | I work for the Coos Bay-North Bend water board and have the unique pleasure to view the Upper Pony Creek Dam, The Reservoir and the surrounding watershed when work there is required. The area is quiet as it is a restricted area and the resident Elk herd is often seen along with a deer or two once and a while. When the weather is nice the lake is a beautiful blue. The trees are in a scheduled harvest cycle and replaced when cut so there is stands of huge trees alongside smaller sized tree patches. all in all it is a pleasure to get to ''work'' in such a beautiful environment and to have the distinct opportunity to live in the area I do. It is possible to view this magnificant area when tours are made available through the Water Board.... |
