There's so much to do here at Smith Ponds that you need to camp here for a while, Wasco County       Fairgrounds is a brilliant location for that. A striking lake like Chase Reservoir close to Smith Ponds is a splendid location to explore; The Dalles Inn is a perfect place to get some rest. The annual rain here at Smith Ponds is about average; most of the rain falls through December; the driest of the months is July. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range.
