Do stop by Smith Lake while you're in this part of Oregon. Smith Lake is located in the Coast Ranges. High temperatures at Smith Lake throughout the summer months are in the 60's. Summer night lows fall down to the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are typically in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Smith Lake temperatures descend to the 30's. Smith Lake is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Sunset Lake Resort and Park is a magnificent spot to camp nearby, and on a brilliant day you can stop at Burke Lake, a swamp close to Smith Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Wild Ace Lake is in close proximity to Smith Lake, and a journey to Fort Clatsop National Memorial is worthwhile. | |

That right there is a lot already, but it carries on; Smith Lake has it all. Old Skipanon Creek is close to Smith Lake and is always a bliss to take a look at, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Astoria Inn. Stay the
night at Kampers West Kampground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Cannon Beach Trail. So much fun stuff to do here in the Coast Ranges, too nice to be true. Lots of people from Astoria come to Smith Lake, and if you
need a place to stay Red Lion Inn Astoria is a tremendous choice. Near Smith Lake you find a golf course called Astoria Golf & Country Club; beaches are delightful and Sunset Beach is no exception. Smith Lake generally gets a good deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is December; the driest month of the year is July.

Driftwood RV Park
 | 13 miles away ...ula at the mouth of the Columbia river. The Park is 2. 2 acres with 56 sites on it. All sites are grass, tables at each site, full hook-up with cable and Wi-Fi available. We are 2. 5 blocks from the beach and 14 blocks from downtown. We have showers, laundry, and a meeting hall available to groups. Our Park is perpendicular to the highway so most sites are well away from the road. There are hiking and bicycling trails, a national wildlife refuge, two beautiful light houses and much history dating back to Lewis and Clark's discovery in 1805. A great place to do exploring, fishing, hiking, and just being able to set on the beach and enjoy nature.
