Not far from Smith Lake, you'll stumble on Wild Ace Lake which is a pretty lake, and if you need a site to stay Red Lion Inn Astoria is a perfect choice. This lake is located in the wonderful Coast Ranges. Old Skipanon Creek is a pleasant local stream; nothing beats kicking back at Sunset Beach. This place, Smith Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. for that, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Lincoln Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two. Smith Lake gets a large amount of water; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily December, that's the one that rains
the most; July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Cannon Beach Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Coast Ranges. Golf can be played at Astoria Golf & Country Club, and Smith Lake is
splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Kampers West Kampground is a splendid local campground. But wait, there's more cool things to do in the Coast Ranges. Lakes are good; Cemetery Lake is a lake that's in close proximity to Smith Lake; a swamp like Burke Lake in the vicinity of Smith Lake has lots of interesting things to see.

Driftwood RV Park
 | 13 miles away ...outh of the Columbia river. The Park is 2. 2 acres with 56 sites on it. All sites are grass, tables at each site, full hook-up with cable and Wi-Fi available. We are 2. 5 blocks from the beach and 14 blocks from downtown. We have showers, laundry, and a meeting hall available to groups. Our Park is perpendicular to the highway so most sites are well away from the road. There are hiking and bicycling trails, a national wildlife refuge, two beautiful light houses and much history dating back to Lewis and Clark's discovery in 1805. A great place to do exploring, fishing, hiking, and just being able to set on the beach and enjoy nature.
The town of Long Beach still retains some of the old charm from the 40's and 50's, yet being able to provide you with up to date services. Great dinning is available from several restaurants. Horse back riding, the Dunes Beach trail that now leads from Ilwaco north to north 16th St in Long Beach (7+ miles).
