Smith Lake is always a pleasure to visit. It is very waterless here at Smith Lake typically; through the month of December you get the most snow around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. While you're here at Smith Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby La Grande. This lake is so wonderful. Oregon Trails West RV Park is a splendid local campground, and do put some time aside to spend at Sam O Spring if you're here at Smith Lake. So many cool things to do here at Smith Lake, too great to be true. Coyote Peak is easy to spot from Smith Lake; a golf course nearby is Baker City Golf Club. Summertime highs at Smith Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; | |

If you like skiing, you're in luck; Anthony Lakes is close to Smith Lake, and after a long day outdoors Baker City Super 8 Motel is a great location to spend a night or two. The Elkhorn Crest Trail offers hiking at its best; Smith Lake Dam is stunning.
