This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Sunshine Flat Trail; a pleasant visit to Flag Prairie is a great way to spend an afternoon. So much exciting stuff in close proximity to Slate Reservoir, completely mind-blowing. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Powder Spring       Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Knights Inn Baker City is a perfect place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Slate Reservoir is right by the Starvation Trail; you could always discover Happy Canyon. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Slate Reservoir get into the 80's, and the nighttime is fairly chillier of course, generally in the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours                  in the wintertime at Slate Reservoir temperatures sink to the 0's. Lakes? Sure, JB Reservoir is in the vicinity, and hiking along the Little Baldy Trail is pleasant fun. A good spot to camp here at Slate Reservoir is Fopian Campground, and why not visit nearby Flag Creek since you're here at Slate Reservoir.
