This place, Skookum Lake, it clearly has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Collawash River, and nearby you come across the South Fork Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. Having a good time in the Central Cascade Range is painless. There's so much to do here at Skookum Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Skookum Lake Campground       is a glorious site for that, and don't forget to take a glorious little visit to Stroupe Creek. Skookum Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful hiking trail in the vicinity of Skookum Lake called the Thunder Mountain Trail. Lakes are magnificent; Surprise Lake is a lake that's next to Skookum Lake. All through the warm months here at Skookum Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 70's.                  When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows in the 30's for Skookum Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Central Cascade Range has to offer. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clackamas River, and not far from Skookum Lake you'll find Lily Pad Lake which is a beautiful lake. On a great day at Skookum Lake you can take a hike along the East Mountain Trail, and if you came to camp Pelton Park is a fine spot to do that. After a long day outdoors Best Western Sandy Inn is a delightful location to spend a night or two, and one of the major highlights of the surroundings of Skookum Lake is East Mountain.
