Summer at Short Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and the night is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Short Lake fall into the 30's. Short Lake is a rather wet place mostly with lots of precipitation; throughout December this area sees the most rain, and the driest       of the months is July. And that's not everything you can do here in the Central Cascade Range. Getting to Devils Creek from Short Lake is uncomplicated; in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Breitenbush River. This lake is so wonderful. At Short Lake you can catch a glimpse of Mansfield Mountain, and splendid skiing awaits you at Hoodoo. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Short Lake. Collawash River                  has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and there's fine hiking along the Thomas Trail. So many entertaining things in the Central Cascade Range, just inspiring. Why not camp at Detroit Lake State Park while you're here at Short Lake; you can go for a hike on the Scorpion Ridge Trail. If you get bored of Short Lake, you could also stop by nearby Leone Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay B and B Rentals is a great site to camp. Short Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful.
